Firstly a big thank you to Heike from Lookers Cars for my invite to probably one of the best golf days I’ve ever been on; and the gala dinner to top the night off was just incredible
To make the day even better my dad was also invited and he finally got to play Close House, a course I know he has always wanted to play.
The course was in amazing condition as the British Masters was held just the week before, in fact all the grandstands for the event were still in place so great to see how the course was set up for the event
Beautiful weather which was unusual for me as my previous visits to play Close House have always been in wind and driving rain!!
To top the day off I was absolutely honoured to be partnered with the Olympic Triple Jump Gold Medalist and World Record holder Johnathan Edwards.
What a great day spending time with him on the course chatting about different sports preparing for events etc, what a great guy he was
As for my dad if you want to play Close House then his partner couldn’t have been better for local knowledge, when he was in same group as Graham Wylie the actual owner of Close House!!
In my dads words “my golf was not that good today, but one of my best days on the course spending time chatting with Graham, one of the nicest guys you could meet”
The evening was topped off with an amazing gala dinner and auction hosted by Alistair McGowan and loads of money was raised for charity
Amazing night with dancers on stage, and a live band to finish the night off, great food and even better company – can’t wait for next year
My season has now drawn to a close and my final report will be a round up off the 2017 season.
All the best
Matt
