EuroPro Tour this week and a long drive up to Newcastle to play Linden Hall.
A new course for the tour and also one I have never played before so looking forward to getting going
Day 1
Good start to the day with 5 straight pars before a bogey on 6 and a birdie on 9, a steady front 9 of level par and onto the 10th
A great birdie on the 10th and I was under par for the day. Unfortunately this was quickly wiped out with bogeys on three of the last five holes.
I was in with 74 +2 for the day
Day 2
Needing to shoot at least level par for the tournament, I had to shoot at least -3 today to stand a chance of playing in the final day.
Not off to the best start when I made bogey on my very first hole
This was quickly wiped out though when I made a birdie 4 on the long par 5 3rd and even better news was after I drove the par 4 8th hole I sunk the putt to make an EAGLE 2 on a par 4
Now I was two under par for the day and back in the hunt – the back nine the more I tried to get low the mistakes crept in and although I did manage another 2 birdies these were erased by 3 bogeys and in the end I had finished with a (-1) 71
My total score for the comp was +1 and just two shots off the cut line –
a long way to travel to just miss out, but back home for a few days before next week and off to Liverpool for my next event on EuroPro Tour
