Another visit this week to The Players Club near Bristol – feel like I’m a member here I play it so many times a year 🙂
Day 1
I got off to a great start, lovely weather and a solid front nine of 2 under par – made up of birdies on the 3rd, 5th and 9th holes
Onto the back nine and again some great golf saw me make another two birdies on holes 11 and 13, Â a couple of bogeys also on the card but a total for the day of 71 and I was -1 for the tournament
Day 2
I was feeling very confident about today’s round, the weather forecast was not looking great but at -1 I had good chance for a top finish.
Unfortunately not the best of starts as I found the water hazard on the first tee, a couple of other errors before a great birdie again on the 9th and I had reached the turn in 39 +3
The back nine was going very well until I reached the 15th hole, a couple more shots dropped there but with birdies on the 11th and 18th see me finish the day with +7 and +6 for the tournament
I look forward to returning to The Players Club in August where I am going to try and defend the Stiff Salver Trophy and win it for the 3rd year in a row.
