With EuroPro just a month away now, I was keen to get into competition mode so I entered an event on the Jamega Tour
It was held at Studley Wood where I had just played my EuroPro qualifier so I knew the course very well
Day 1
Not off to the best of starts as I made a bogey on my first hole, another made on the 5th before my first birdie on the par 5 7th hole.
I reached the turn in 37 (+1) for the round just very steady nothing to exciting, but no disasters either.
Onto the back nine and a similar story to the front nine really, three straight pars followed by back to back bogeys on 13 & 14 before another great birdie on the 17th and I was round in (+2) 38 for the back nine and 75 (+3) for my round.
Target for day 2 a round of -3 to get myself back to level par and nice solid start in preparation for the EuroPro season
Day 2
Unfortunately again!! the weather has come to my tournament and in fact it rained so hard the night before the course could not be made playable and the decision was made to abandon the second days play so the first round scores counted for the tournament.
Disappointed I didn’t get a chance to improve my finish position but with the rain falling and greens flooded the organisers definitely made the right decision.
