Round 1
The starting hole at royal ascot is a tough 220 yard long par three which I unfortunately bogied on both days. A bogey on hole one and a couple of three putts on the front 9 saw me drop two more shots.
Another bogey on the short 8th hole followed by a par and I was already +4 through 9.
Although things seemed against me I managed to battle my back with birdies at holes 10,12 and 14 and I went from +4 to +1.
A few steady pars coming home and i signed for a respectable score of 71 +1.
Considering how the round began it was a very strong comeback to put myself back into the tournament.
Round 2
My comeback from the day before granted me with a nice late tee time.
Once again I struggled with the opening hole dropping a shot before bouncing straight back with a birdie at the second hole.
Two solid pars followed before another birdie at the par 5 5th and I was back to level for the tournament.
A small blip on holes 7 and 8 saw myself fall from -1 for the day to +1 and at the turn I was +2 for the tournament.
Knowing that there were plenty of birdies to be made on the back 9 I knew I could get my score back and birdying holes 10 and 11 saw me once again enter red figures for the day.
A par at 12 followed by a missed green at 13 which resulted in a bogey.
My scrappy round continued when I birdied the 14th and 15th to get myself into contention for another pay day!
Unfortunately trouble off the tee at 16 and 17 saw me drop back to back shots and a par at 18 made me settle for yet another 71 +1 and come tied 17th for the week just missing out on a pay cheque.
Plenty of positives to take from the week with lots of birdies made but too many silly errors stopped it from being an even better week.
