Round 1
My start to the Essendon tournament was a shaky one, dropping three shots inside the first four holes, due to missed greens and terrible chipping.
A brilliant birdie at the tough 6th hole made me think I could get something going, however a bogey at 7 followed by a lost tee shot on 9 saw two more shots fall away and reach the turn in 40.
My round didn’t get much better when i missed the 10th green left, duffed my chip and then proceeded to three putt for double bogey 6. Another dropped shot followed and yet another poor display from my short game on the 15th saw another double bogey and a bogey at the last saw me sign for a +10 82.
Round 2
A new day and things did not start in great shape with once again dropping some shots early in the round. A birdie at the par 4 7th saw me get back to +1 for the day and two pars saw me reach the turn in 37 +1.
Then a three putt on 11 followed by a lost ball on 12 then a missed green on 13 and all of a sudden three holes had ruined what was a pretty steady round of golf up until that point.
I finished with 5 straight pars and signed for a 77 +5.
A difficult week with some very stupid errors on both days however there are still plenty of tournaments left for me this year.
