Another great course, and a very long and demanding test of golf
Day one got off to a great start after I birdied my second hole to go one under, I did give a couple back after bogeys on the third and fifth hole before I had a complete nightmare with a triple bogey 6 on the par 3 7th hole
I reached the turn on 40 +4 for the round
Much better back nine with birdies at 10, 12 and 13 and with a couple of bogeys made on the 11th and 16th I signed for a one under par back nine of 35 – this gave me a first round score of 75 +3 for the tournament
Day two and again off to a great start this time with a birdie at the very first hole, one bogey on the 5th and another birdie on the 9th and I was out in one under par 35
Another birdie on the 10th and I was at two under par and things were moving nicely now back to only one over for the whole comp.
Then a poor shot out of nowhere saw me lose my ball on the 12th resulting in a double bogey, worse to come as lost another ball on the 14th for triple bogey!!.
I was gutted all my hard work over the last two days had slipped away in just two holes, I went on to bogey 17 and 18 to finish with a 78 and finished +9 for the 36 holes, more annoying was that 8 of these shots had gone in the final 7 holes
The positives were making 7 birdies on a very tough course (when the winning score was only -3), but still too many dropped shots ruining the hard work.
