Looking forward to this event as I was also playing in the Pro-Am before the tournament with my sponsors
Finally, a beautiful sunny day awaited us and a shot gun start saw us starting off on the Par 3 second hole.
With the guys being very nervous we didn’t get off to the best off starts but once things had settled day the back nine proved to be the best golf as we were round in -8 as a team for -4 in total
Shaun from Kingsland Drinks saved the best till last as he sent in a iron to a couple of feet of the flag on hole 17 to take the nearest the pin prize, a dozen ProV1 golf balls which he very kindly donated to me to use (thanks again Shaun)

Really enjoyed playing the Pro-Am and we all made sure all had plenty of banter and laughs to keep each other going – thank you to Mark, John and Shaun for the day, great company
Day 1
Playing the front nine first I didn’t get off to the best of starts when I made bogies from holes 2 to 5, after making pars on the rest of the front nine I was round in +3 38 for nine holes
Back nine and a pulled tee shot on the par 3 11th saw my ball head into the long rough – by the time I found my ball and got it out of the rough and onto the green a poor 3 putt and I had made a double bogey
I didn’t give up though and bounced straight back with birdies on holes on 12 and 14 so was back to level par back nine and 3 over from the front – in total day one 74 +3
Day 2
Starting on the back nine – knew I needed a -3 and hope level par would be good enough for the cut
I birdied 14 to go one under par and +2 for the comp so was still in hope of the cut, no more birdies but 8 pars and I had finished the back nine (my front) 35 -1
Again for the third day running the par 3 second caught me out and I made a bogey followed by another on the 3rd
One shot back on the 8th with a birdie and I finished with a level par round of 71 – unfortunately my 3 over from day one left me at a tournament total of +3 just outside the cut line
Thank you to Mark (Divorce Online) and John and Shaun from (Kingsland Drinks) for all your support – I’m already looking forward to another golf day again sometime soon
Here’s my scorecard
